With a distinguished career spanning Electronic Engineering and Human Resources, I offer a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic insight. My journey began with managing a large automatic telephone exchange, serving thousands of customers. This foundational experience ignited my passion for technology and propelled me into various senior management roles.
As a Lecturer in digital systems, including System X and satellite technologies, I inspired and mentored the next generation of engineers, bridging theoretical knowledge with practical application. At BT Laboratories, I led pioneering, multi-million-pound projects that brought cutting-edge technologies to life, including the multinational EuroPACE satellite venture. As an Executive Engineer, I led the commissioning of complex national telecommunications infrastructures, including the rollout of Operations and Maintenance Centres across England, and developed digital networks for New South Wales, earning Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
My transition into Human Resources marked a pivotal career shift and represents a unique selling point, as it allows me to leverage my technical background in new and impactful ways, including conducting both technical and personal recruitment interviews. As one of just four BT Recruitment Managers, I recruited top-tier talent, including highly specialised technical professionals, both domestically and internationally.
Earning my MCIPD certification, I developed and executed corporate strategies, spearheaded extensive company-wide recruitment campaigns, and led performance management initiatives that drove organisational success.
As a Personal Branding Specialist, I have gained a proven track record of helping professionals elevate their careers through personalised interventions, including CV writing, vocational coaching, and interview training. My deep understanding of both personal and operational assessments, coupled with extensive experience in conducting in-depth interviews, enables me to craft compelling personal profiles that truly stand out in today's competitive job market.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I am deeply fascinated by quantum mechanics and have an enduring passion for high-fidelity audio. My pursuit of perfection in music has led to investments in Hi-Fi systems that my wife does not fully appreciate.
