Your LinkedIn ‘About’ section should not be a dry summary of your CV—it should be a compelling personal narrative. Use the WHO-S-E-E-S formula to structure it effectively:
The WHO-S-E-E-S Formula:
WHO: Who are you? Introduce yourself in a professional yet personal way.
S: Strengths – Highlight your key skills.
E: Examples – Showcase specific achievements with data or tangible results.
E: Ethos – What are your professional values or work philosophy?
S: Skills – List key competencies relevant to your field.
Example Opening Paragraph (First 3–4 Lines Are Critical!)
"I am a results-driven digital marketing strategist with a passion for increasing brand visibility and customer engagement. With over 10 years of experience, I have successfully led teams to deliver data-backed campaigns that have increased conversion rates by 35%."
💡 Pro Tip: The first 3–4 lines of your ‘About’ section must be compelling because they are the only part visible before clicking ‘See more’.
Quick Exercise:
Draft your LinkedIn ‘About’ section using the WHO-S-E-E-S structure. Make sure it includes at least one quantifiable achievement.
